Harmonisches Radar - SFCW Transmitter (BA / MA)
While classic radar systems exploit the linear interaction of electromagnetic waves with the environment, harmonic radar evaluates the harmonics of a nonlinear target. Since the environment usually reflects linearly, harmonic radar bypasses background reflection (clutter), which is often a limiting factor in target detection.
A stepped-frequency continuous-wave (SFCW) transmitter is to be developed for a harmonic radar. In addition to the design and manufacture, the source is to be fully characterized afterwards.
Prerequisites for this work are knowledge of RF system aspects. Experience with software for the design of printed circuit boards is an advantage.
The exact scope of the task will be adapted to the respective type of thesis.
