Presentation at BRICS

Melina Nowak and SIna Huxhagen are going to give the final presentation of the 2022 iGEM team of TU Braunschweig on Friday, 25th November, at 4.30 pm in the large seminar room 045/046 in the BRICS building. This is an opportunity for members of TU Braunschweig and external supporters to learn about the project LionDetect.

Our team was very successful in Paris at the Grand Jamboree and won silver.

Training from Xylem on pH measurement

The company Xylem has kindly provided us with a pH measuring device. In the course of this, we also had a training session on Zoom yesterday, where we were told many interesting facts about pH measurement. It was about the construction of a measuring electrode, about the calibration and many other interesting tips and tricks around the measurement.

On Tuesday, 30.08.2022, we gave a lecture on synthetic biology in a biology advanced course at the Gaußschule in Brunswick. We not only gave the students an understanding of synthetic biology and the principle of cloning, but also told them about our project and the iGEM competition.

Meeting with a former iGEMer

To acquire knowledge effectively, it's best to talk to experts. For this reason, we met with an "Intein master" from a former iGEM team who participated in the 2020 competition. Besides interesting information about inteins, we also talked about his experience with iGEM. Thank you, Andreu!

HPLC training course

For a successful project, it is indispensable to learn new methods of analysis and improve skills and knowledge. Therefore, some members of our team received an introduction to High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).

For this purpose, anthocyanins from various plants were isolated and subsequently analyzed by HPLC.
