At the Institute of Materials (IfW), everything revolves around understanding and advancing materials - from your first undergraduate lecture to research-oriented specialization in the master’s program. In our research, we focus primarily on metallic materials and are guided by future technical requirements, ranging from the development of titanium alloys for medical technology to heat-resistant nickel alloys for the aerospace sector. To this end, we conduct research particularly in the fields of additive manufacturing and atomistic simulation, utilizing modern testing and analysis methods.
