15.03.2024:  Heinrich Büssing Prize awarded to Dr Alexander Henkes

Mechanical engineer Dr Alexander Henkes has been awarded the 2023 Heinrich Büssing Prize for his outstanding scientific achievements. The €10,000 prize is awarded annually by the “Foundation for the Promotion of Science at the Carolo-Wilhelmina” of the Braunschweigischer Hochschulbund (BHB).

01.12.2023:  Dr. Juan Li Receives Ph.D. Award from the International Academy of Wood Science

Dr. Juan Li has been honored with the Ph.D. Award from the International Academy of Wood Science in the year 2023. This internationally acclaimed recognition is bestowed annually for outstanding research achievements in the field of wood and fiber science and technology.

Dr. Juan Li serves as a research associate at Fraunhofer WKI. She is responsible for the laboratories specializing in "Atomic Force Microscopes (AFM)" and "Dynamic Mechanical Thermal Analysis (DMTA)," focusing on materials research. During her doctoral studies, she was a member and fellow of the DFG Research Training Group 2075, affiliated with TU Braunschweig, where Fraunhofer WKI is a partner.

 

01.06.2023:  We are delighted to announce that Dr. Alexander Henkes and Professor Henning Wessels from the Institute of Computational Modeling in Civil Engineering, along with Professor Jason Eshraghian from the University of California, Santa Cruz, have been awarded the Sustainability Award, worth 1,500 euros, at the annual meeting of the Society for Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM) in Dresden. Their exceptional dedication was recognized for the development of a digital method that contributes to more efficient maintenance of bridges and can extend their lifespan.

01.04.2023:  We are delighted to announce that Dr. Qiuni Fu has been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship. This fellowship supports the career paths of researchers through mobility while attracting talented researchers to the EU. The objective of the fellowship is to support the careers of researchers and to foster excellence in research.
