In collaboration with colleagues from Météo France, a one-day online conference will take place on Thursday 24 September 2026, focusing on various aspects of the ecosystem services provided by green roofs and green façades. The conference will address research findings from field measurements and modelling studies across various spatial and temporal scales – ranging from the leaf level to the urban scale – as well as from short-term and long-term studies. The aim of the event is to present the latest scientific findings on the various ecosystem services provided by green roofs and façades to an international audience of experts. Speakers include researchers from Canada, the USA, France and Germany, amongst others.
The conference also marks the conclusion of the bilateral research project GREENVELOPES, in which researchers from the Technical University of Braunschweig (Institute of Geoecology) and Météo France (Centre National de Recherches Météorologiques) collaborated between 2022 and 2026.
