Welcome to the homepage of the Institute of Food Chemistry at TU Braunschweig.

The Institute of Food Chemistry has three professors and more than 30 other staff members. Education in the field of food chemistry can look back on a tradition spanning over 100 years (see Institute History). Braunschweig is the only university in Lower Saxony offering the Food Chemistry degree program. The former state examination program in food chemistry was converted into a bachelor's and master's program in the 2020/21 winter semester. However, in combination with a 12-month practical training program, these programs continue to provide the basis for a state-certified food chemist degree.
