On January 21, 2026, an online workshop on the scalable V²PRO vector processor architecture was held in collaboration with Prof. Ching-Hwa Cheng and Prof. Don-Gey Liu from Feng Chia University (Taiwan). In addition to the architecture and design principles of the V²PRO processor, the workshop presented the vector programming model, the associated software support, and practical approaches to programming and optimization for maximum performance and energy efficiency. The workshop represents a significant step forward in our German-Taiwanese research cooperation in the field of robust, AI-controlled LiDAR SiP sensors for autonomous driving applications. Feng Chia University contributes specialized expertise in CMOS SPAD-based LiDAR front-end sensors and on-chip denoising, while our team is advancing back-end AI processing with advanced vector microarchitectures and FPGA prototyping, as a springboard for future ASIC implementations.
