Professor Anne Paschke – Public law, technology law and law of digitalisation

Prof. Dr. Anne Paschke shapes technology and digitalisation in Germany in a unique way: she combines legal expertise with interdisciplinary innovative spirit and ensures that technological advances always take place within a clear regulatory framework. At Technische Universität Braunschweig, located in the heart of one of Germany's most research-intensive and open regions, she finds the ideal environment to further develop her ideas in close collaboration with researchers from various fields of study.

“I am always impressed by this openness to other fields of study. I have never encountered this anywhere else before.”

As Director of the Institute for Legal Studies and Head of the Research Centre for Mobility Law, Anne Paschke's work is anchored at the intersection of technology, administration and law. She supports digital transformation with her legal expertise and works on projects that promote the digitisation of processes and the implementation of digital innovations. Her goal is to design administrative processes and decision-making procedures in such a way that they function sustainably, strengthen the common good and, at the same time, ensure the individual protection of citizens.

“Every day, we conduct research into how we can make society fairer and more inclusive, enabling people to live together harmoniously. At the same time, we also work to make laws more understandable so that justice can be served in practice.”

Beyond the university, Anne Paschke is a sought-after consultant for politics and administration. She is a member of various committees and scientific working groups, ranging from the design of administrative digital law to the reform of the ‘civil proceedings of the future’ and the application of artificial intelligence in the legal system. With her interdisciplinary perspective, she ensures that legal requirements do not lag behind rapid technological developments and that the principles of the rule of law are upheld.

Her research focuses on establishing a regulatory framework for digitalisation that offers people guidance and security. Anne Paschke rethinks processes in order to balance different interests – from corporate protection and data protection to the prevention of discrimination in automated procedures. In this way, she makes a significant contribution to ensuring that technological innovations are not only efficient, but also fair and transparent. With her work, Prof. Dr. Anne Paschke is making an important contribution to leading Germany into a digital future in which progress and legal clarity go hand in hand. At TU Braunschweig, she is giving researchers and students the opportunity to participate in this vision and help shape the framework for future generations.
