What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

I have fond memories of the orientation phase and my first semester at TU Braunschweig. After graduating from high school and completing my military service, there were so many new things to discover in my new role as a student. During this time, friendships were formed that are still going strong. After exams, when the weather was good, we would often meet up on a small jetty on the River Oker with a view of Löbbecke's island and enjoy an ice cream or cold drink, happy to have taken another small step towards graduation.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

The TU Braunschweig is a very good size to be able to offer a diverse range of courses on the one hand and to create a very personal learning environment on the other. In my degree course in Mechanical Engineering and Management, the many options for specialization are a big plus. I also really liked the close links between teaching and research as well as the many collaborations with industry (e.g. guest lectures, excursions).

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • challenging
  • inspiring
  • versatile

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

Many things, especially the contents from my specialization in production and logistics.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

Be curious and pursue the topics that interest you. Take the opportunity to spend one or two semesters abroad during your studies, whether it's a study abroad program or an internship.

In one sentence - In the future, I wish the TU Braunschweig:

...that it remains an inspiring and versatile place of learning.
