What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

I have fond memories of the intensive block seminars, especially in Pharmaceutical History, where we immersed ourselves in fascinating topics. The lectures by Professor Gerd Biegel at the State Museum were also very memorable—and entertaining.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

Short distances, slightly “morbid charms,” city is not too big, not too small.

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • interdisciplinary
  • horizon-expanding
  • demanding

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

During our studies, we learned to look at issues from different perspectives. This helps me enormously today when it comes to explaining technical matters to laypeople in a way they can understand. Working independently and familiarizing myself with new topics, which was common practice during my studies, definitely helps me in my job today, too.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, we try to meet up at least once a year. Then we chat about old times and laugh a lot.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Don't prioritize career planning over family planning.
  2. Broaden your horizons, e.g. by doing internships and student assistant jobs.
  3. Just do it.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

Qualified teachers, committed learners, and continued thinking outside the box.
