KREIS

KREIS – Creating a humane circular economy

Funding: Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

Duration: 2023 – 2028

Project Description

The KREIS project aims to see the circular economy not just as a technical challenge, but to organically combine technology and work to lay the foundations for more sustainable and humane value chains. Up to date, a major challenge is that individual phases of a product's life cycle have generally been considered separately. As a result, there is a lack of overarching knowledge and experience, which is crucial for the success of circularity. KREIS addresses this problem and develops strategies and concepts with which the life cycle of products can be holistically understood, designed, and communicated. The scientific findings and testet transfer formats achieved in KREIS are intended to address the global task of creating sustainable value chains on a regional and supra-regional level and play a key role in their development and establishment.

The AIP's work focuses on the development of business planning approaches that focus on human-centered design and thus support acceptance, implementation, dissemination, and perpetuation in companies.
