An A1 certificate allows employed persons on business trips to demonstrate whether they are subject to the laws of the sending country or the regulations of a foreign country.
For business trips scheduled at short notice and/or of short duration (up to one week), A1 certificates must be applied for in advance only for the EU countries France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. For all other EU countries and non-EU countries, there is no need to apply for the certificate for short-term business trips. For regular and/or longer business trips with a posting period of more than one week, an application for an A1 certificate must always be submitted.
To ensure that the relevant data for all employees and civil servants on business trips abroad can be transmitted electronically via sv.net, a simplified application form has been developed for this purpose, which can be found on the information portal.
