What is AHA? The trainees at TU Braunschweig want to welcome new trainees to TU Braunschweig with their AHA project "Trainees help Trainees".

What is the idea? The central idea of AHA is to create orientation and strengthen community.

Who supports AHA? The project was started with the help of the sandbox and is now being carried out with the support of Professional and Personnel Development — BGM, in close cooperation with the trainers, the training coordinators and the youth and trainee representatives. AHA-Rallye 2020

The AHA rally took place again in 2020!

A field report by two trainees gives a brief insight.

In this context, we would like to thank all colleagues and trainees who again supported us wonderfully this year under difficult conditions to present their department/facility and guide the rally groups through the stations.

Welcome to the TU! — Welcoming the new trainees

This year, around 30 trainees have started their training at the TU in different departments. The AHA rally was also planned as a welcome event, but this time under very special conditions. Due to the Corona pandemic, the rally was moved outside and the representatives of the different departments introduced their departments there. Wearing masks and in smaller groups, the rally started on Wednesday morning at the old building. There, the groups and their supervisors gathered at a distance. The route of the groups varied according to their field of activity (office, handicraft, laboratory, IT), so that each group had an individual itinerary. One route took them to the mail room, the human resources department, the staff council, the press office, department 22 (public procurement law and procurement), the learning factory, human resources development, among others. The rally finally ended at the sports centre, where group photos were taken and a small feedback round formed the conclusion.

Overall, the trainees were able to gain a good insight into the different departments of the TU through short and informative presentations. Despite the cool weather, there was a good atmosphere in the groups. Open questions could be answered by the group leaders or the employees of the department. Although the AHA rally took place under special conditions, it was possible to learn a lot and make new contacts.

We are launched...!

On 1 February 2019, the time had finally come for the trainee project "AHA - Trainees help Trainees" to hold its first regulars' table meeting among trainees. With home-baked pastries and snacks, the whole thing started at 12:00 p.m. in the seminar room of the personnel development department at Bültenweg 74-75. The meeting began with a relaxed round of getting to know each other and was then continued with topics such as the idea of the regulars' table, problems in training, partnerships among trainees, planning the introductory days .... In addition, the planning of the next meeting was already discussed, and a few trainees immediately agreed to organise it. It is planned that the venue will vary so that several TU locations can be got to know.
