Institute for Numerical Analysis

With more than 15,000 students and around 3,800 employees, Technische Universität Braunschweig is one of the leading technical universities in Germany. We stand for strategic, performance-oriented thinking and action, relevant research, dedicated teaching, and the successful transfer of knowledge and technology to business and society. We are firmly committed to family-friendliness and equal opportunity.

Our research priorities are Mobility, Engineering for Health, Metrology, and City of the Future. Strong engineering and natural sciences form our core disciplines, closely interlinked with economics, social sciences, education, and the humanities.

Our campus lies at the heart of one of Europe's most research-intensive regions. We collaborate successfully with more than 20 research institutions in our neighbourhood, as we do with our international partner universities.

The Institute for Numerical Analysis conducts research and teaching in state-of-the-art numerical mathematics. Our research focuses on the development of innovative numerical methods for the simulation of physical, engineering, and economic processes. We cover the full spectrum from fundamental mathematical research to the development of efficient, reliable, and user-friendly software. Our research is driven by challenging applications and carried out in close collaboration with national and international research partners, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and scientific progress.

To strengthen our expertise at the interface of numerical linear algebra and numerical algebraic geometry and advance our research in numerical linear algebra, we are seeking, starting August 1, 2027 or September 1, 2027, a
