Commitment and Public Welfare

Public Welfare-Oriented Competence Development

For us, knowledge transfer means public welfare-oriented competence development. Therefore, we offer service provisions in the area of commitment and public welfare for all members of TU Braunschweig to enhance transfer and cooperation competencies. To this end, we establish campus-community partnerships to promote commitment with socially relevant issues and questions, and to provide opportunities to contribute from the university to the improvement of social, ecological, or economic issues. We focus on 'Future Skills' such as interdisciplinary and collaborative thinking and action, and support students and early-career researchers in sustainability projects

Our offerings in the area of commitment and public welfare:

Opportunities for commitment with the Sandkasten platform:

One opportunity for commitment and networking is provided by the web platform "Sandkasten." The idea is that people who spend many hours at TU Braunschweig every day shape the campus as their working and living space. We facilitate participatory projects on the topic of "sustainability." If you have a good idea for change on campus, you can share it on the Sandkasten platform. This makes the idea public, and interested parties can volunteer to join the project team or support it in other ways.

Service Learning:

Within the scope of teaching and studying, faculties can utilize the Sandkasten platform for Service Learning projects. Students can submit their own commitment projects on the topic of sustainability via the Sandkasten platform and incorporate them into their curriculum as part of their Learning through Commitment (LdE).
