Our team

Our network

The Green Office

Our team is a "young" team – young because the Green Office was established at TU Braunschweig in 2021. Originating from an idea developed by the AStA department for Ecology and Sustainability, the Green Office was initially established as a student-led project, laying an important foundation for the university’s sustainability strategy. Since 2024, our team consists of three permanent staff members and – depending on the project – five to seven student assistants. The Green Office is part of the designated office Digital Transformation and Sustainability.

gezeichnete Personen sprechen miteinander

The Green Office supports the research project LENKER, which focuses on the solution-oriented development of new concepts to sustain motivation for cycling. The project examines why young people between the ages of 16 and 29 cycle less during key life transitions—such as starting university or a career, moving house, or obtaining a driver’s licence. The aim is to develop practical, target-group-specific measures that sustainably strengthen the motivation to cycle. Learn more.

Fairtrade University Logo

TU Braunschweig has been recognized as a Fairtrade University, demonstrating its commitment to fairer global trade. In collaboration with the Green Office and student initiatives, fair products are promoted on campus, events are organized, and awareness of global justice is strengthened. The application is based on five criteria, including the integration of fair-trade products into everyday university life and active public outreach. Students play an active role in this process, advocating for sustainable supply chains and intergenerational justice.
