Greetings from University Sports Center

Director Mathias Steiln welcomes you to the new year 2024!

Mathias

Dear athletes,

As the team at the University Sports Center, we would like to welcome you warmly to the new year.

In a time characterized by changes and challenges, it is crucial that we dedicate ourselves to the strategic topics of our university. Diversity, digitalization, internationalization and knowledge transfer are in focus and will significantly shape the future of our educational institution. We at the University Sports Center are proud to actively contribute to the realization of these goals.

Diversity is not just a term for us, but a guiding principle at the heart of everything we do. Our offering is diverse and accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, background or physical ability. We are committed to inclusion and equal opportunities in sport and, thanks to the support of Prof. Dr. Ittel, our university president, we are the first institution to be involved in the "Diversity Impact Process", which we are already actively shaping and implementing in the 3rd phase.

Digitalization has fundamentally changed the way we work and we use modern technologies to continuously improve our service. From the simple online registration process for courses to the use of apps to monitor performance - digital progress is noticeable at our company and is being actively driven forward.

Internationalization is another essential area that we promote at the University Sports Centre. By integrating international students and academics into our sports programs, we make an important contribution to the global networking of our university and promote intercultural exchange.

The transfer of knowledge not only extends to teaching, but also manifests itself in the field of sport. Our trainers and experts bring the latest findings from sports science and health promotion directly into practice, enabling an effective exchange of know-how.

In addition to sport, promoting the health of students and employees is also important to us. We see it as our responsibility to develop and implement measures for student and workplace health promotion.

We are optimistic about the future. Our University Sports Center is a lively place of exchange and encounters where we turn our strategic goals into reality. We are delighted that we have already returned to pre-coronavirus pandemic levels in many areas.

Most students are now facing a stressful examination phase. During this time, it is important to find a good balance: In this context, HEALTH4YOU offers you informative events on the topics of taking a break in motion, stress management and meditation, and our wide range of sports activities for the lecture-free period starts in mid-February. You can therefore look forward to many sporting opportunities and shared experiences away from the stress of exams at the University Sports Center.

We would already like to give you a small preview of the summer semester. The first highlights are currently in the planning phase, but one date has already been set: the Campus Run 2024 will take place on 26.05.2024. The Uniliga soccer league is also expected to start a new season in May. We look forward to a sporting year together with you in 2024.
