Who are you and what is your research topic?
My name is Chetan Talwar and currently I am doing research on Assessing the potential of political parameters to conform with Flightpath 2050. I am a part of the independent research group JRG – A1 within the ICA A.

Which research question are you working on?
The main problem that I am working on is based on the goals set by Flightpath 2050 which are:

• To reach the ambitious goal of Flight path 2050:
  Reducing CO2 emissions by 75% of the 2000 emission value by the year 2050

Thus, my research questions pertaining to above are:

• Which policies and interventions would be required to achieve these ends ?
• What are the behavior/scenario of these policies ?

What makes this topic special/exciting for you?
The fact that the policies that I am testing for in my model might be considered to apply in the real world scenario at some point makes me feel special about this topic.

Why is your topic relevant for future aviation?
I think it is really important for the government and institutions to know what could possibly be the result of using certain policies to reach the Flightpath 2050 goal. In this way, policies can be enacted in a much thoughtful and coherent manner. It might also help, policy makers to get a reference point for a start.
