Reduced course fees for Preparatory German courses

As part of the DAAD-funded "FIT" programme, German learners can benefit from reduced participation fees for certain Preparatory German Courses.

In the Preparatory German Courses at TU Braunschweig you can learn and practise all relevant German skills for your studies in Germany. Together with other international students, you will prepare for the "German as a Foreign Language" (TestDaF) test and can apply for a study place at TU Braunschweig or another university in Germany after passing the test.

Reduced course fees for B2.2 courses and TestDaF preparation courses

German learners who have already successfully completed the B2.1 course or the B2.2 course and plan to enrol for a STEM degree programme (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) at TU Braunschweig after successfully passing the TestDaF exam can benefit from reduced course fees for B2.2 course or the TestDaF preparation course as part of the DAAD-FIT programme.

Application

The budget available is limited. If you are interested, please apply with the following documents (to be submitted in German):

  • Curriculum vitae
  • B2.1 certificate (for a reduced course fee in the B2.2 course). Please note: If you are participating in the current B2.1 course and taking the exam on 6/7 October 2025, you will not yet have a B2.1 certificate at the end of the application period to apply for a reduced course fee in the B2.2 course. In this case, please enclose a certificate of attendance for the B2.1 course with your application. Please note: A reduced course fee can only be granted if the exam has been passed and the certificate is submitted at a later date.
  • B2.2 certificate (for a reduced course fee in the TestDaF preparation course): Please note: If you are participating in the current B2.2 course and taking the exam on 3/4 September 2025, you will not yet have a B2.2 certificate at the end of the application period to apply for a reduced course fee in the TestDaF preparation course. In this case, please enclose a certificate of participation for the B2.2 course with your application. Please note: A reduced course fee can only be granted if the exam has been passed and the certificate is submitted at a later date.)
