University Committees

Governance Board

Technische Universität Braunschweig is managed by a Governance Board. In accordance with Sections 36 and 37 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz, NHG), it is the central body and manages the University under its own responsibility. In particular, it handles the development and fulfilment of the University’s tasks.

University Council

The University Council is a central body of TU Braunschweig under Sections 36 and 52 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz, NHG). It gives advice to the Governance Board and the Senate and comments on developmental and economic plans, on the University’s foundation of or participation in companies as well as on drafts of objective agreements.

Senate

The Senate of TU Braunschweig is a central body in accordance with Sections 36 and 41 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz, NHG). It decides on the University’s regulations, development planning and the equal opportunity plan. The Senate expresses its position on all self-government issues of fundamental importance.

Dean's Round

The Dean’s Round, headed by the President, is composed of the deans and the members of the Governance Board. Under Section 24 of the Grundordnung, its purpose is to mutually communicate and coordinate matters of fundamental importance.
