The TU Braunschweig provides more than 100 apprenticeship places, where school graduates are given the opportunity to complete the company-based part of their apprenticeship in various professions. Within this framework, the Gauß-IT-Zentrum supports the apprenticeships for "IT-System-Elektroniker" as well as "Fachinformatiker" in the two fields of "Systemintegration" and "Anwendungsentwicklung".
On August 1 of each year, we recruit one applicant for each of the three training courses. The young people are involved in various projects at the facility and thus have the opportunity to get to know the entire range of tasks of a central facility for information and communication technology. Integration into the work teams and projects is our central objective. The aim is for trainees to assume responsibility for parts of the IT services as early as possible.
After completion of the three-year apprenticeship, it is not possible to be automatically hired for a position at the Gauß-IT-Zentrum. However, on the basis of a service agreement with the staff council, the TU Braunschweig offers performance-related further employment for a limited period of up to one year within the scope of this service agreement if the personal and professional suitability is present. The associated professional practice is gladly taken up. The Gauß-IT-Zentrum also benefits from the acquired expertise and the commitment that the young people bring in the course of their training and afterwards.
Applications for apprenticeship positions reach the TU Braunschweig in larger numbers a few months before graduation. Please always send your application in writing to the "Personalsachbearbeitung für den Ausbildungsbereich" for the training area. Applications that we receive directly will also be forwarded to the personnel department.
