EACN 2026

2026 Workshop on Entanglement Assisted Communication Networks (EACN)

EACN_Logo

November 16–18, 2026 Tempe, Arizona, USA

The sixth Workshop on Entanglement Assisted Communication Networks (EACN) will take place in Tempe, Arizona, immediately following the IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW). The scheduling is intentionally coordinated so that participants can conveniently attend both meetings and benefit from the strong thematic overlap between information theory and quantum communication.

Scope and Vision

Shared entanglement is widely recognized as a key enabler for future quantum information processing tasks. Despite major theoretical breakthroughs and impressive laboratory demonstrations, the path from conceptual models to scalable and deployable technology remains open.

This challenge is particularly pronounced in quantum communication networks, where questions of architecture, resource allocation, physical implementation, and information-theoretic limits intersect.

EACN 2026 aims to provide a focused and interdisciplinary forum addressing:

  • The role of entanglement as a resource assisting classical and hybrid communication systems

  • Fundamental limits in entanglement-assisted communication

  • Architectures for quantum-enhanced networks

  • Bridging theory, experiment, and system design

The workshop brings together researchers from information theory, quantum optics, network science, experimental physics, electrical engineering, and industry, fostering dialogue across disciplines.

Topics of Interest

The workshop will include (but is not limited to) the following topics:

  • Entanglement-assisted classical and quantum communication

  • Quantum Information Theory

  • Quantum Sensing and distributed sensing networks

  • Entanglement generation and distribution

  • Quantum memories and repeaters

  • Quantum simulators

  • Quantum security and cryptography

  • Hybrid classical–quantum network architectures

  • Resource theories and operational interpretations of entanglement

Participation

We welcome participants from:

  • Academic institutions

  • Research laboratories

  • Industry and technology developers

Further information regarding submission guidelines, invited speakers, program details, and registration will be announced soon.

Organizers

  • Boulat Bash
  • Christian Deppe
  • Christos Gagatsos
  • Janis Nötzel
  • Uzi Pereg

We look forward to welcoming you to Tempe in November 2026 for an exciting and forward-looking discussion on entanglement-assisted communication networks.
