In early March, the Institute of Applied Physics at TU Braunschweig brought a very special model to phaenoBricks 2026 at phaeno in Wolfsburg: Between Lego castles and ball tracks, the institute's researchers presented a fully functional atomic force microscope (AFM) made of bricks. A model that they developed themselves.
On Saturday alone, around 3,700 people flocked to Phaeno, and it was a joy to see how our family-friendly AFM inspired young and old alike to take an interest in the world of physics.
