As part of the CliMax project, we wanted to identify methods that can detect stress early on and at the same time be used comprehensively by experts in urban ecology, forestry and green space management. In a literature review, we therefore evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of commonly used methods for detecting drought stress in urban trees in terms of user-friendliness, availability and suitability for large numbers of trees.
