Since November 2025, Dr. Xianlei Fu has been working at Technische Universität Braunschweig — at two institutes simultaneously: the Institute of Geomechanics and Geotechnics and the Institute of Geoecology. There, he is developing geotechnical and biological approaches to prevent slope failures. His two-year stay is funded by a postdoctoral fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The Chinese researcher is supervised by Marius Milatz and Magdalena Sut-Lohmann.
