How does war change the earth beneath our feet? Dr. Anastasiia Splodytel and Professor Magdalena Sut-Lohmann are investigating this question at the IGÖ. Their goal is to develop a land use and management tool for war-affected ecosystems, for which there are currently no models in Ukraine. Their work involves life-threatening sampling, complex laboratory analyses, and sustainable approaches to soil remediation.
