On Friday 23 October 2026, the graduation ceremony for the 2025 and 2026 cohorts of the Life Sciences programmes took place in the Audimax at the Technical University of Braunschweig.
On this occasion, 107 Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates, as well as PhD graduates, gathered in a festive setting with nearly 300 guests. Lecturers from the Department of Biological Sciences and various departmental representatives were also in attendance. Prof. Reinhard Köster from the Institute of Cell and Neurobiology presided over the event with confidence and great wit.
The programme included, amongst other things, a lecture entitled "Neuroscience on a Timeline" by Prof. Jochen Meier, a celebratory address by Prof. Reinhard Köster and video presentations by students in PITCH format. There was also a presentation of the TU Braunschweig alumni network by Maike Stelter, as well as an introduction to VBiO, the umbrella organisation for the life sciences and biomedicine.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of certificates to the graduates by representatives of the Biology and Biotechnology academic deans’ offices: Prof. Susanne Engelmann, Sonja Wolff-Franke and Dr Simone Karrie.
The celebrations were complemented by the Alumni Network’s photo booth in the foyer, which proved very popular, as well as the "Biological Experimentation World", where various institutes and departments offered guests a hands-on experience of the life sciences.
