Duration of stay: 2 semesters (3 terms)

Start of the stay: 1st / 3rd master's semester

During your year abroad at URI, you will usually complete a total of 24 ch (credit hours). You will take 5 courses totalling 3 ch and write a Master's thesis totalling 9 ch. To achieve the M.Sc. at URI, 30 ch are required, the remaining 6 ch are imported to URI through two Master's courses (taken at the TU BS). Typically, the 5 courses taken at the URI are recognised for 5 credits at the TU BS after an equivalence check. Likewise, the Master's thesis written there (in consultation with a supervising institute at TU BS) is also submitted to TU BS as a student research project or Master's thesis. In total, 49 to 55 ECTS credits are collected at the URI.
The remaining 65-71 ECTS must be completed before or after at the TU BS in order to obtain the corresponding degree in Braunschweig. Your degree programme will not normally be extended. You will therefore receive two full degrees from two different universities within the standard period of study for one degree.
The regular fees for participation are approx. 1,800 € (costs for the language courses, 1 ch in the summer term).

Start of the stay: for the Fall or Spring term at the URI in the 1st/3rd Master's semester

You study at URI for one semester either in the Fall or Spring term. Typically, you will take 3 courses there, which will be recognised at the TU BS if they are equivalent.
The regular fees for participation are approx. 750 € (costs for the language courses).

Possible degree at the URI:
Master of Business Administration in Strategic Innovation (MBA)

Duration of stay: 2 semesters (3 terms)

Start of the stay: 1st / 3rd master's semester

You will study the regular MBA programme at URI. The MBA is a generalist management programme with a strong practical focus and a prescribed curriculum. Recognition of academic achievements at the TU BS is possible in principle, but much more difficult due to the smaller overlaps. The Master's thesis to obtain the TU BS degree must be written in Braunschweig. This usually leads to an extension of one semester at the TU BS.
The regular fees for participation are approx. 1,800 € (costs for the language courses, 1 ch in the summer term). You will also incur additional costs of approx. 8,000 USD (despite free places).

Prerequisites:

• Grade point average / Bachelor's degree at least 3.0
• English test of the Language Centre of the TU BS with at least 2 x C1 and 2 x B2 (alternatively corresponding TOEFL test)

Application procedure:

1. Interested parties should contact the programme coordinator with their prepared study project to arrange an appointment. In addition, participation in an application workshop organised by the IO is highly recommended.

• Copy of the Bachelor's certificate/current overview of grades
• Copy of the Abitur certificate
• English test from the language centre/language certificate or TOEFL certificate (at least 2x C1, 2x B2)
• Copy of valid passport or proof of application
• Copy of enrolment certificate
• GMAT (only for MBA)

1. Once all application documents have been received, students who are eligible for the programme will be invited to an interview at the TU BS in mid-December.
2. Shortly after the interview, the students will be informed whether they have been accepted for the programme and whether they will receive financial support for one of the free places.
3. In January, the official application to the URI of the applicants already accepted by the TU BS is prepared and sent out in cooperation with the IO.
