What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

Lectures in the Audimax

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

Short distances, high level of expertise

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • Learn
  • to
  • learn

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

The fundamentals of Mechanics and Statics and the ability to acquire knowledge for concrete implementation in a short period of time. Studying for exams is good preparation for acquiring knowledge in construction projects, where you repeatedly encounter topics that you have never dealt with before.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

I am still in close contact with several former colleagues at the institute where I did my PhD. Unfortunately, I have lost touch with almost all of my fellow students.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Look beyond your own field and explore other disciplines.
  2. At university, you have time to immerse yourself in theory; you'll have plenty of time for practice in your job.
  3. Enjoy your time at university.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

Highly qualified and independent research, as well as competently fulfilling teaching responsibilities.
