What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

My study days at TU Braunschweig were intensive, but also very exciting. With weekly homework and many oral exams, studying mathematics was very time-consuming. Nevertheless, there was never a shortage of fun or interaction with fellow students. For example, the sports program is a great opportunity to try out a variety of new sports and make new friends in a very uncomplicated way. I still find Braunschweig a city worth living in today. It's just the right size for me, with a big city infrastructure and easy access by bike.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

The support was particularly good in the Mathematics programme, and there was a good relationship with the lecturers.

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • intensive
  • educative
  • coffee (lots of!)

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

In my work as a data scientist in the field of machine learning and AI, I benefit every day from the mathematical fundamentals such as statistics, algorithmic understanding, and programming that I learned during my studies.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, I am. The five years studying together for a Bachelor's and Master's degree forge bonds and friendships that last a lifetime.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Start networking early – contacts with fellow students and companies often open doors before you expect them to.
  2. Be brave and get practical experience – internships, working student jobs, and projects alongside your studies provide real insights and bring your resume to life.
  3. Stay curious – the most exciting opportunities often arise outside of your original plan. Being open to new things is a career booster.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

Keep up with the rapidly changing times!
