What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

I enjoyed spending time in the Magniviertel neighborhood, in the courtyard with its five pubs (it was on Breite Straße, but it's no longer there) and also in the Lupe (the arthouse cinema, which is also no longer there).

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

A nice size, both in terms of the university itself and the city. With an excellent environment, at least back then, for enjoying student life.

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • A
  • wonderful
  • time

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

The ability to approach problems and their solutions in a structured manner, the ability to critically question myself and my results, and a solid understanding of scientific contexts, coupled with a continued interest in technology and science.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Unfortunately, no.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Do what you want to do, but be aware that later on you will be doing something different from what you imagine now.
  2. Stay open-minded, motivated, and curious. But also be realistic, pragmatic, and authentic. With this attitude, you will succeed in making something of your studies. But it will often not be what you imagined at the beginning.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

It should remain a place that successfully teaches knowledge and skills in the fields of technology and natural sciences, thereby enabling students to find work in the future and lead secure and interesting lives.
