Christian Lessmann is Professor of Economics at Technische Universität Braunschweig. He is Research Professor at the ifo Institute - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research at the University of Munich e.V. and CESifo Research Network Fellow. Christian Lessmann is member of the Regional Economics Section as well as the Development Economics Section of the German Economic Association. He is head of the Department of Business and Economics at TU Braunschweig.
Before joining TU Braunschweig in 2014, Christian Lessmann was Professor of Economics at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. He received both his habilitation and his PhD at Technische Universität Dresden, and he was junior researcher and PhD candidate at the ifo Institute Dresden Branch. His research was awarded with the Wolfgang Ritter Prize, the Georg-Helm Prize, the Dr. Feldbausch Prize, and the Peggy and Richard Musgrave Prize.
