The Specialized information Service BAUdigital is being set up as a central point of contact and tailored service offering for the specialist areas of civil engineering, architecture and urban studies (urban planning). The aim is to set up and establish a web service platform on which media and related information is made available focused on digital methods and technologies in the related topics. The University Library of Braunschweig (UBBS) is one of four project sites. The German Research Foundation has been funding the project since 2020. Currently, the project is in its first funding phase.

The Braunschweig University Library (UBBS) supports scientists at the TU Braunschweig with digital, research-related services as a central research and teaching center for the natural sciences. These include, among other things, consulting and service offerings in the area of publishing and open access. With this expertise, Braunschweig University Library will play a key role in setting up the Open Access section of the FID BAUdigital portal and shaping it in exchange with the specialist community.
