The Knowledge Transfer Team at TU Braunschweig offers various participation formats. The Zukunftswerkstatt ("Future Lab") is suitable for groups of up to 15 people. Each session of a Zukunftswerkstatt lasts approximately 6 hours (excluding breaks) and is led by a trained host. The offering is conducted with the involvement of researchers from TU Braunschweig.
In addition, we offer more broadly designed participation workshops. These can be individually planned and may take place either within the university or externally.

Societal challenges require diverse perspectives in order to develop effective solutions. The Zukunftswerkstatt provides precisely such a collaborative approach: it is a participatory group-based methodology designed to foster the collective development of creative solutions to complex problems and the formulation of forward-looking ideas and strategies.
Originally developed in the 1970s by Robert Jungk and Norbert R. Müller, the Future Workshop has since become firmly established across various domains, including business, politics, and education. The method can be applied to a wide range of contexts, from the development of products and services to the planning and design of cities and regions.
A typical Future Workshop takes place in a facilitated workshop lasting from one to several days. Participants from diverse backgrounds and with varying experiences come together to:

As part of the nationwide campaign week Together Against Loneliness, a Future Workshop on the topic „Developing Ideas Together to Combat Loneliness” took place on 4 June at the Science and Art Lab. The aim was to develop concrete projects addressing loneliness in Braunschweig together with a wide range of societal stakeholders, which can later be implemented with students via the Sandkasten platform.
