The institute deals with a broad spectrum of topics in the fields of aircraft construction and lightweight construction. This spectrum ranges from research into innovative aircraft concepts in the context of multidisciplinary optimisation tasks to numerical and experimental investigations into the behaviour of modern lightweight construction materials. Our focus is on both the further development of methods and their practical implementation in scaled or full-scale demonstrators, which are created, tested and analysed in our laboratories and test hall.
“Building on our 80-year legacy of pioneering research, innovation and teamwork, we at IFL are driving the development of lightweight and mobility technologies for tomorrow's society and environment.”
