Students on the Master's degree programmes in Information Systems, Financial and Business Mathematics, Industrial Engineering and Technology-Oriented Management at TU Braunschweig (TUBS) have the opportunity to acquire a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). The degree - based on a "dual degree" - is awarded in addition to the Master's degree from TU Braunschweig. The MBA can be obtained during a 12-month stay at the UNO. The UNO's College of Business Administration (CBA) is responsible for the MBA. Since 1965, the study programmes offered by the CBA have been (re)accredited by the renowned AACSB International Standard, most recently in April 2011. To obtain the MBA, the relevant credits must be completed at the CBA. TUBS students can complete part of these credits during their Master's programme in Braunschweig or have them credited.
The degree programme consists of two semesters of study at the TU Braunschweig (Phase A), followed by a further two semesters at the College of Business Administration at the UNO (Phase B). The MBA programme concludes with a one-semester Master's thesis at TU Braunschweig (Phase C).
In phase (A), students complete courses in computer science and business informatics. The credits earned in business informatics can be transferred to phase (B) together with previous credits from the Bachelor's programme and shorten the MBA programme in Omaha to just two semesters. The MBA credits earned in the USA are transferred back to TU Braunschweig and shorten phase (C) there to just one semester.
As a rule, the MBA programme must be financed individually, with the UNO tuition fees being the largest item. However, the UNO has made a number of free study places available to TU Braunschweig, which are prioritised for students with very good prior achievements.
In addition, TU Braunschweig regularly endeavours to acquire DAAD scholarships. Further funding opportunities may be available through scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Fulbright Commission and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (SDW).
