Julia Wolffson, a research assistant at the Institute of Economics, participated in the 18th Joint IOS/Leibniz ScienceCampus “Europe and America”/EACES Summer Academy on Central and Eastern Europe in Bernried on Lake Starnberg in early July. The topic of the Summer Academy was “Health, Fertility, and Gender Norms: Times of Crisis, War, and Demographic Change in Central and Eastern Europe.” Julia Wolffson presented her paper “The Beginning of the End: Do Obstetric Unit Closures Worsen a Region’s Demographic Outlook?”
