The informized life - chances and visions of interdisciplinary research for life`s challenges in a world filled with computer science and information technology.
The 4th annual convention of the Center for Informatics and Information Technology, tubs.CITY, will take place on June 7 - 8, 2012. This year`s convention centers on the topic "The informized life", which we want to explore together with partners from science and industry.
Already today, our modern world surrounds us with manifold systems arising from computer science and communication technology. This will only intensify in the future, and our environment will be more and more permeated by such systems. New connections, structures and mechanisms will develop, which will reach beyond pure information, but will fundamentally permeate and change our world and our lives: they will be "informized". The "informized person" is a central part in such a world.
tubs.CITY stands for visions for an informized life - a life within information society, which is accompanied by modern information systems in every domain, and is thereby formed by information and technology. Various research groups of tubs.CITY, related to computer science and information technology work together an these visions - for tomorrow`s mobility, accomodation, and quality of life. The goal is to master social challenges, for example demographic change, the increasing digitalization of all areas of life, as well as the demand for sustainable growth.
Visions and technology research combine to applications that are innovative and technologically advanced, while incorporating the needs and demands of individuals, organizations, and society.
On the first day, Thursday, June 7, we offer between 9 am and 5 pm a wide range of presentations by selected external guests. The goal is to exhibit a wide spectrum of current scientific research and visions, that form the basis of our informized world. Furthermore we wish to discuss future challenges and possibilities for merging their varied aspects.
