Injured during university sports - and now?

1. Accident reports and submission of an accident report

In the event of an accident in the context of university sports, the accident victim must immediately consult an emergency doctor.

 

Important: An accident report must then be submitted to the sports center!

 

There are two different accident report forms. You can find this in our download area​​​​​​.

 

Both accident report forms consist of a total of three pages, two of which must be submitted. The third page only contains an additional filling-in aid.

 

Transit doctors are listed on the picture.

2. First Aid

In the event of minor injuries, the trainer will provide first aid.

In the event of serious injuries, please call an ambulance immediately (see also 3. In-house telephones for emergency calls).

First aid kits are located in the following locations:

Sports hall Beethovenstrasse:

  • In the control room + in the Rebenring sports area fitness center:
  • In the sports hall in the passage to the medical room
  • In the gym

Sports hall Franz-Liszt-Str.:

  • Upstairs

Campus North sports hall:

  • In the passage to the changing room
  • Sports area new high school:
  • In the control room
3. House telephones for emergency calls

In-house telephones, from which the numbers 0-110 (police) and 0-112 (fire brigade) can be called free of charge, are located in the following sports facilities:

 

Sports hall Beethovenstrasse:

  • In the control room + in the Rebenring sports area fitness center:
  • In the medical room of the sports hall
  • In the relaxation area of ​​the sauna

 

Sports area Franz-Liszt-Str.:

  • On the ground floor of the administration building
  • Right in front of the terrace exit

 

Campus North sports area:

  • In the entrance area in front of the hall of the new high school
  • In the control room
4. Claims Reports

If damage is found to sports facilities or sports equipment, please inform the sports center office immediately (Tel.: 391-3659).

5. Sports officials

6. First Aid 1x1

this is how you properly help:

Abrasions and scratches:

  • Clean the wound (e.g. with an antiseptic solution designed for wound disinfection).
  •  Cover aseptically with a sterile dressing
  •  Risk of tetanus infection (ask about vaccination status)

Bruises and strains

  • For all non-bleeding sports injuries, the "PECH regimen" is used:

P - Pause:

Stop sport, immobilize affected body part

E - ice :

cool with cool packs (no direct skin contact), do not use ice spray

C - Compression:

Apply compression bandage

H - Elevate:
injured body part should be above heart level

 

Suspicion of a fracture

  • Treatment by doctors only
  • Notify rescue service
  • Secure injured body part, cover open wound sterilely

Cardiovascular arrest

  •  Immediate emergency call
  • Resuscitation measures
