German Research Foundation (DFG)

The German Research Foundation (DFG) offers various funding lines, e.g. in the area of individual funding, coordinated programmes, international cooperation and major research instrumentation.

Individual Research Grants

Are you preparing an application for an individual research project? The Research Services offers comprehensive, personalized guidance for every stage of your funding proposal, taking your unique circumstances into account.

Coordinated Programmes

DFG collaborative proposals, such as those for Collaborative Research Centres/Transregios (SFB/TRR), Research Training Groups (GRK), Research Units (FOR) and Priority Programmes (SPP), require thorough preparation and good organisation.

Therefore, please contact us as early as the drafting phase – we will support you throughout the process, from the initial idea to approval, and offer you the following:

  • advice and information on the suitability of the funding programme;
  • information on central services for cross-cutting themes;
  • calculation tools, checklists and handouts;
  • strategic optimisation suggestions for your proposal;
  • a formal review of your proposal;
  • feedback on the trial run for reviews;
  • obtaining the necessary signatures from the university executive board;
  • support and coordination throughout the internal university processes  (login required).

Major Research Instrumentation

If you are planning to apply to the DFG for Major Research Instrumentation funding, please contact Sachmittel- und Investitionscontrolling as soon as possible. They will advise you on the application process and coordinate the internal review of the application at TU Braunschweig.
