Career compact course for international students during excursion week

Our career compact course provides you with intensive, practical preparation for a successful start to your career in Germany.

Get ready for your career in just four days!

Would you like to apply for a student job or internship? Or stay in Germany after completing your studies at TU Braunschweig and start your professional career? Excellent! We support you on your way into the German job market. Together with regional companies and partners, we have developed a compact career course in which we teach you all the basics you need to start your professional life. At the end of the programme, you will have your perfect application portfolio in your hands and will have successfully mastered a German job interview.

In the summer semester of 2026, the course will take place during excursion week from 26 to 29 May.

Important: The compact course is held in German and is free of charge. 

Credits

  • 2 ECTS for successful participation and completion of the examination.
  • The credits are recognised in all degree programmes offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Carl Friedrich Gauss Faculty in the area of interdisciplinary qualifications (pool area).
  • For credit recognition in other faculties, please speak directly with your degree programme coordinator and your examination office.

Workload and examination requirements

  • Attend all four days of the compact course
  • Participation in interview training (individual appointments on 9, 10 or 11 June 2026, 45 minutes each)
  • Submission of a complete application for a position you have researched yourself by 7 June 2026

Extra bonus

After successfully completing the course and passing the exam, you will receive a professional application photo from us. We will arrange the photo appointment together at the end of the course.

13:45 - 17:00 Conclusion fair at Eintracht Stadium: thematic input, stadium tour, team building and end of the week.
Additionally: Participation in interview training

In this extra training session a few weeks after the compact course, you will have the opportunity to train for a job interview at a German company in a 45-minute one-on-one session.

The interview will be conducted by company representatives from the region and experts from the International Career Service. The focus will be on your self-introduction and typical interview questions. The coaching will be rounded off with a feedback session.

When: individual appointments on 9, 10 or 11 June 2026, each lasting 45 minutes.

Prerequisites

You are enrolled at TU Braunschweig (studying or doing a PhD) and you have a good command of German at least at B2 level.
