Short Description

Coordinates, interpolation polynominals, shape functions, Hermite-polynomials, isoparametric representation in FEM. Development of element classes for rectangles and triangles, fundamental equation of the theory of linear elasticity in index- und matrix form, direct method of element formulation, application of energy and variational methods for the description of elements (hybrid, mixed). Application of FEM on static and dynamic, transient heat transfer (conduction, convection, radiation). Basic of convergence and adaptivity of FEM. Solution of the linear, nonlinear and transient matrix equations of FEM. Exercises on computers.

Prerequisites

Finite Element Analysis I or good knowledge in the field of linear elastomechanics.
