Awareness
For us, awareness means being alert to situations in which a person's boundaries and sense of safety are overstepped. It is about being mindful and respectful towards ourselves and others. We want to look out for and support each other, maintain boundaries and actively combat discriminatory and inconsiderate behavior. We are aware that there is no space free from discrimination.
As an awareness team, we want to raise awareness of cross-border situations and provide support to those affected.
Code of Conduct
Please take the following guidelines seriously and follow them so that we can create a non-discriminatory, non-judgemental space together. A mindful and respectful approach is important to us so that everyone can feel comfortable at the event.
- We respect individual boundaries. Only yes means yes! Act according to the consensus principle! We do not question individual experiences of discrimination.
- The power of definition always lies with the person affected. The person concerned defines for themselves when and what form of violence or discrimination they have experienced. This definition is taken seriously and is not questioned.
- The use or threat of psychological and/or physical violence will not be tolerated.
- We take a clear stance against all forms of discrimination, such as racism, sexism, ableism, queerophobia, anti-Semitism, classism and discrimination based on age or appearance.
- Do not take photos or make films of people you do not know without obtaining prior permission.
- The distribution and wearing of illegal symbols such as national socialist and right-wing populist symbols will result in immediate and permanent exclusion from the event.
- Respect nature and the environment. Cigarette butts, bottle caps, confetti etc. have no place in nature, but belong in the rubbish!
If you experience or observe behaviour that violates these rules, you can contact the people with waistcoats!
