The Niedersächsisches Forschungszentrum Fahrzeugtechnik (NFF) is one of the largest and most modern centres for mobility research at any German university and focuses on promising future-oriented topics in vehicle and traffic research.
From the existing social, environmental and economic requirements for the development of vehicle-related technologies and usage models, the NFF has developed the vision of Sustainable Mobility.
It will be implemented in five scientific research fields (Intelligent Vehicle and Connected Driving, Low-Emission Vehicle, Flexible Vehicle Concepts and Vehicle Production, Mobility Management and Logistics, Electromobility) and will sustainably ensure the individual mobility needs in metropolitan areas.

Mit der öffentlichen Vorstellung des Fahrzeugs am 11. Februar 2026 findet das Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekt „SUE“ (Self-Driving Urban E-Shuttle) seinen erfolgreichen Abschluss. Das Besondere: Von der Fahrzeugplattform über die Systemarchitektur bis zur autonomen Fahrsoftware wurde das autonome E-Shuttle vollständig in Deutschland entwickelt und erprobt. Die Entwicklung des automatisierten Fahrsystems erfolgte unter Leitung des Instituts für Fahrzeugtechnik (IfF) der Technische Universität Braunschweig. [Mehr]

Wie gelingt es, internationale Studierende in Niedersachsen für den regionalen Arbeitsmarkt zu gewinnen und sie nachhaltig an die Region zu binden? Mit dieser Frage beschäftigten sich am 09. und 10. März 2026 Vertreter*innen von Hochschulen, Wirtschaft und Politik am Niedersächsischen Forschungszentrum Fahrzeugtechnik (NFF). Die Technische Universität Braunschweig war Gastgeberin für die erste regionale Tagung „FIT connect“ des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) und stellte auch ihre eigenen Aktivitäten zur Unterstützung internationaler MINT-Studierender beim Übergang in den deutschen Arbeitsmarkt vor.
