Short Description

Basics on the components of the material, i.e. matrix and fibers, different systems etc., elastic behaviour of single layers, dependency of elastic constants on fiber orientation, fiber volume fraction etc., classical laminate theory, transformation of stresses, strains and constitutive equations, basics on lay-up and design of composite parts, basics on production of composite parts, damage behaviour of composites.

Prerequisites

minimum 2 years of study

Notes

 

The technology of composites is treated as well as the basic methods for stress and strength analysis, so that the students get basic knowledge of the design, calculation and manufacture of composite components.
