The online info sessions offered by the International Student Support are just right for you! Here you can gain concise insider knowledge, ask all your questions and get to know your fellow students in advance in relaxed introductory sessions.

The sessions are aimed at international degree-seeking and exchange students.

For all international students who are new to Braunschweig, the International Student Support team organizes a Welcome Week at the beginning of the semester. This programme is an excellent opportunity for you to get to know the university and make new friends. It includes a kick off event, campus tours, information events on study-related topics, practical workshops, get-to-know-you events and much more. One highlight is the first-year excursion to exciting destinations in the region.

There are also online sessions for new international students to help you prepare for life and studies at TU Braunschweig.

The Welcome Week for the winter semester 2026/27 will take place from 12 to 17 October 2026.

Online Welcome Meeting on Thursday, 8 October 2026 at 8 AM.

You will be welcomed by the Dean of Studies and receive an overview of the AIMS master’s program.

In November/December there will then be an introduction to administrative matters, where we will cover topics like:

• TUconnect: registration for exams
• examination regulations

• For the grill evening at the department hut, please bring your own barbecue supplies. From 10:00 a.m. onward, the student group will be at the hut to answer any questions.

Overview modules

All students must complete their study plan with the help of their mentor at the start of their studies and submit it to the Examinations Office. This plan is intended to help students and programme coordinators better organize their degree programme, semesters, and courses.

Each student is assigned an onboarding advisor (teaching staff) by the AIMS Examination Committee at the beginning of their studies. 

The onboarding advisor provides the student with academic guidance and works together with them to complete their study plan. Over the course of their studies, the onboarding advisor and the student have optional meetings to discuss academic progress.
