On July 1, 2026, as part of the lecture series “Braunschweig Seminar on Economics, Politics & Practice,” Jürgen Matthes will give a lecture titled “Partner, Competitor, and Systemic Rival: How Should We Deal with China?” in the TU Old Building (Altgebäude).

On June 11, 2026, Prof. Felix Rösel participated in the workshop “Exciting Experiments for Economics Classes” at Baker Hughes. There, teachers from the Celle region received practical ideas for teaching economic concepts in a clear and interactive way in the classroom. Prof. Rösel explained and illustrated economic topics using experiments.

On May 22 and 23, 2026, the Bundesbank Workshop for Young Scientists on Applied Economics was held at the Bundesbank in Hanover. Prof. Ludwig from the Department of Economics is one of the organizers inviting doctoral students, postdocs, and assistant professors to present their work at the workshop.

In early May, our colleague Diana Zarbailova attended the KIZ Young Scholar Workshop on Political Economy at the University of Leipzig, which was organized and hosted by Sebastian Blesse and his team (University of Leipzig). Diana Zarbailova presented her paper “Can't Buy Me Love? Cash Transfers and Support for an Autocrat.”
