„Building Technology“

We are looking for a person, who is able to teach advanced developments in building technology and aims to work in research on innovative strategies in energy and climate design from single buildings to urban environments up to energetic networks of buildings and infrastructure.

Introduced through the social shift to regenerative energies, building technology is getting more and more integrated in the overall view of energy and resource efficiency. Next to the energetic provision and climate regulation of buildings, the interaction with the energetic infrastructure network as well as the integration of electromobility will get a key issue in design of building technology. This development does not exclude the protection of traditional and well-tried concepts for natural regulation of air and temperature in building. Candidates should be extraordinary skilled in these fields.

We are asking for applicants from the engineering disciplines of building and supply technologies and although from architecture with relevant expertise and experience in integral planning of building services of sophisticated architectures. Broad international networks as well as the ability to acquire and process research projects are anticipated by us. As a collective faculty of architects, civil engineers and environmental scientist we appreciate inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation. Especially, the participation in the established research centers of TU Braunschweig (Future Cities, Center for Fire Protection, Battery LabFactory) is desired. We expect willingness to active cooperation in the self-government of our faculty as well as the ability to work in a team and social competence.

The position is mainly involved in the defined bachelor and master courses of the Architectural Department and partly in the courses of the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences. Didactic skills are required and experience in teaching is very welcome, also in English. Besides the basic course we expect that the professorship in building technology integrates advanced technologies and design concepts in our teaching units and sets noticeable marks by innovative teaching courses and formats.

The requirements of the position are defined in Section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz).
