German Accelerator

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) supports German start-ups from the field of information and communication technology (ICT) and life sciences in getting to know the American market. The German Accelerator is another organisation seeking promising ICT start-ups looking to take their first steps into the American market.

Selected start-ups have the opportunity to undertake targeted optimisation of their business model to fit one of the three accelerator locations in the USA – Silicon Valley, San Francisco and New York – and to make contact with potential customers and investors. They also receive support in developing their communications strategy and adapting their product to the international market. The programme is open to all innovative and promising start-ups with an ICT base.

Erasmus for young entrepreneurs

The Erasmus international exchange programme for young entrepreneurs offers new or budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to learn from an experienced entrepreneur running a small business in another participating country. Spending time with an experienced entrepreneur enables an exchange of experience and helps the new entrepreneur to acquire the skills necessary to run a small business. The guest entrepreneur benefits from a new perspective on his or her own business and has the opportunity to form new business relationships and get to know new markets. The travel and accommodation costs are subsidised by the European Union.
