Building Bridges: Probability, Statistics and Applications

on the occasion of the International Year of Statistics 2013

and with special events commemorating the

60th birthday of Claudia Klüppelberg

Tuesday, August 13 - Friday, August 16, 2013

Braunschweig, Germany

In the International Year of Statistics 2013, the aim of this conference is to bring together a wide range of researchers working in various different but also strongly interconnected fields of probability, statistics and their applications.

We also take the opportunity of this conference to celebrate the 60th birthday of Claudia Klüppelberg and her numerous scientific achievements which show how important it is to look at theory and applications in probability and statistics.

Topics of the conference include, but are not limited to:

  • Extreme Value Theory
  • Insurance Mathematics
  • Lévy Processes
  • Mathematical Finance
  • Random Fields
  • Risk Management
  • Statistics for Stochastic Processes
  • Turbulence

While talks are on invitation only, there will be an open poster session. Early stage researchers are particularly encouraged to present their work.

There will also be a conference dinner on August 15. Further information regarding the registration can be found here.

The conference programme can be downloaded here.

The conference is financially supported by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).

The event is held under the sponsorship of the Bernoulli Society in the frame of the International Year of Statistics 2013.  Further information can be found at www.statistics2013.org and www.bs2013.org.

The conference poster can be downloaded here.
